Snoop Dogg's Evolving NFT Tour Passport

Snoop Dogg’s 2023 summer tour comes with an NFT passport that evolved as the tour went on - the NFT Passport promises access to exclusive content and other benefits from the world's biggest entertainer.

During Snoop Dogg's 2023 tour, 3000+ NFT Passports were purchased by scanning a QR code on the concert screen.

These NFT Passports are not only digital collectibles, but can also grant access to behind the scene content and exclusive VIP experiences on tour.

Why NFT Passports?

It's all about engagement.

Fans are no longer content with just going to the concerts, they want to be part of the entourage: they want to know what their favorite celebrities do everyday, what their daily routines are like, who they hang out with and how they prepare for their shows.

With NFT Passports - fans could unlock exclusive accesses, including behind-the-scene content, virtual hangouts, in real life post-concert VIP parties and etc.

For celebrities, they will also know their fans better, and can engage with them on a more personal level. NFT passports show them which shows the fans have been to - celebrities will have an opportunities to connect with their fans, or maybe even sending personalized gifts on fans' birthdays with a nod to the shows that the fans have been to.

Making NFTs Accessible to Everyone

One of the biggest challenges of using NFTs for fan engagement is to onboard those who are non-native to Web3.

To collection the first original NFT collections required a lengthy onboarding process of setting up crypto wallets, purchasing cryptocurrencies and then purchasing the NFTs. Not to mention the significant Web3 wealth of knowledge of how to navigate Web3 without getting scammed that comes with it.

The Snoop Dogg team worked on a much simpler onboarding flow.

The Passport NFTs are enabled by Crossmint’s NFT Checkout - which means the purchase flow is extremely easy and straightforward:

  1. Scan a QR code on screen at the concert
  2. Go to the NFT Passport website
  3. Use Apple Pay to pay for the mint

The entire flow takes less than one minute, and the NFT will be created using Crossmint’s Minting API to send to a wallet spun up also by Crossmint (if you’d like to learn more about Crossmint’s Wallet-as-a-Service product) for the user using their email.
